Policies

General Return Policy SouthArk COLLEGE STORE'S RETURN AND REFUND POLICY I. For Textbooks/Course Materials (all required/optional/suggested textbooks, workbooks, e-books, access codes, lab kits, or other supplies required by the instructor): A. To be eligible for return and refund, course materials must be unopened, unused, and verified to have been purchased by the student returning the materials. B. If a student wants to return course materials because she/he decided to drop the class or just does not want to keep the materials.

  1. For the 1st through 5th class days of a semester or within 5 days of when the materials were purchased (whichever is later), the College Store will refund 100% of what the student paid; 
  2. For the 6th through 10th class days of a semester or within 10 days of when the materials were purchased (whichever is later), the College Store will refund 50% of what the student paid; 
  3. After the 10th class day of a semester or later than 10 days after when the materials were purchased (whichever is later) the College Store will refund 0% what the student paid. C. If a student needs to return course materials because the class was dropped by the college, or if the College Store staff sold her/him the incorrect materials, or due to other documentable mistakes made by SouthArk staff, the College Store will refund 100% of what the student paid within 10 days of when the purchase was made, as long as the College Store staff can verify the mistake. 
  4. II. For Non-Course Materials/General Merchandise Items: 
  • To be eligible for return and refund, general merchandise items must be unopened, unused, with sales tags intact, and verified to have been purchased by the student wanting to return the items. 
  • General merchandise can be returned for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Refunds after 30 days generally are not allowed, but exceptions will be made at the College Store Manager, at her discretion. 
  • General merchandise that is defective should be sent to the manufacturer by the student, if the item is under warranty and within the manufacturer warranty period. If not under warranty, the student should return the item to the College Store for exchange or refund within 30 days of purchase; if the item is used, the College

Store Manager will determine the allowable refund.
